How To Stay

Our House is your home

From the moment you enter our doors, we want your family to be comfortable. But most importantly, we want to provide you the support you need so you can focus on the most important thing – your child’s healing.

To stay at the Ronald McDonald House Overnight, families must:

  • Have a patient 21 years or younger that’s being treated at any local medical facility.
    • Children under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by their parent or a legal guardian
  • Either live out of the state of Indiana, or live more than 15 miles away from the Ronald McDonald House located on 3540 Washington Ave. Evansville, IN 47714
  • Obtain a referral from your child’s assigned Social Worker/Nurse

To utilize the Ronald McDonald House as a Day Guest, families must: 

  • Have a patient 21 years or younger that’s being treated at any local medical facility.
    • Children under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by their parent or a legal guardian
  • Obtain a referral from your child’s assigned Social Worker/Nurse

If you meet these qualifications, the next steps require you to:

  • Wait for a confirmation– A referral is not a “reservation” and does not guarantee availability.
  • Check Availability– Because we are unable to make reservations, you must wait to hear confirmation from your child’s nurse/social worker, or call us 24 hours prior to your arrival date (812)402-7642 to ensure that a room is available.
  • Staying at our House–  We ask for a suggested donation of $10 per night (for Overnight Guests) or $5 per day (for Day Guests). Accommodations are not contingent on ability to donate. A Room Key(s) deposit of $10 is due upon check-in and will be applied to your donation at the end of your stay.
  • Check-In Procedure– All adults staying at the Ronald McDonald House must present photo IDs and complete the registration process prior to receiving accommodations.
    • Upon check-in, families will receive our Guidelines & Policies. All families are required to sign a Release & Agreement to Hold Harmless.
  • Check-Out Procedure– Upon a child’s discharge from the hospital, families must visit the front desk and begin the check out process prior to leaving.
    •  Room keys must be returned to the front desk.
    • Room donations may be made at any time, but are encouraged upon check out.
  • Housekeeping– The Ronald McDonald House does not have paid housekeeping. you are responsible for the cleanliness of your guest room during your stay. The expectations and House rules are explained upon check in.
